Offering books, 1835-1845.

The offering books are lists of notes pertaining to debts that were offered to the State Bank and its Branches for discount. The information is sometimes organized alphabetically by county, and then within each county the information is recorded chronologically. Included are the date on which the notes were offered for discount, the name of the person offering the note, the name of the person to whom the note was offered, and the name of the person or persons who endorsed the note. Also included are the amount of the discount, and information stating to whom the discount was returned or if the note was withdrawn and by whom. This series is also called county offering books and offering notebooks.
